Strengthening Churches in Sharing Christ

About Us

Originally organized in 1833, the Bethel Association is one of the oldest Baptist associations in Georgia.  In recent years, however, we have sought a new vision from God to guide us into the 21st Century with increased relevance and effectiveness.  Out of this process has come a new Purpose Statement, Vision, and Priorities which you see on this page, along with our motto or "Main Thing", which is "Strengthening Churches in Sharing Christ."

The Bethel Association presently has 34 member congregations, with a combined membership of around 7,000 persons.  These churches are all located in the counties of Early, Clay, Baker, Calhoun, Randolph, and Quitman in SouthWest Georgia.  Although most of our churches are smaller membership, rural congregations, they are all characterized by a love for our Lord Jesus Christ and a commitment to missions.  Last year, our churches gave over 18% of their undesignated offering receipts to mission causes.  A 8% of all undesignated gifts supported Georgia Baptist and Southern Baptist missions causes through the Cooperative Program.  These are just indicators that our churches truly have a heart for God and for reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
